Sociology as a subject was introduced in Govt. Degree College Pabau, since the college was established here. Since, its first session, the student strength has increased every coming session. Students have shown interest in the discipline and research methodology practice it follows. The theories of classical and modern thinkers, that always relate to the happenings of society keep on attracting students towards the vastness and versatility of the subject. With the growing development processes, the subject has got more recognition for its post-modern theories and studies on various social issues. Therefore, the discipline is becoming more and more relevant to future prospects also, that encourage students to carry out research on various social processes and establish a mark on society.
